Signing Of Deed Of Adherence Among Ministry Of Coal, NTPC And NML

On September 27, 2023, a Deed of Adherence (DOA) was signed involving the Ministry of Coal (MOC), NTPC, and NML. This agreement pertains to several coal mines, including Badam, Talaipalli, Chatti Bariatu, Chatti Bariatu (South), Kerandari, and Dulanga. The signing ceremony took place at the Ministry of Coal's Conference Hall, with esteemed attendees such as Shri M. Nagaraju, IAS, Nominated Authority and Additional Secretary from the Ministry of Coal, Shri Shivam Srivastava, Director (Fuel) of NTPC and Chairman of NML, along with other senior officials from MOC.

The Deed of Adherence was formally executed by Shri M. Nagaraju, Nominated Authority & Additional Secretary, representing the Ministry of Coal, Shri Animesh Jain, CEO, representing NML, and Shri T. K. Konar, GM (TS), Coal Mining, representing NTPC. During the event, Shri Nagaraju extended his best wishes to NML for its upcoming mining operations, and the CEO of NML expressed gratitude to the Ministry for its support, assuring the early enhancement of coal production.

The signing of the DOA will facilitate the transfer of mines to NML, and it signifies NML's commitment to complying with the terms of the Coal Mine Development Agreement while developing these mines.

Notably, NML is a wholly-owned subsidiary of NTPC Limited. Currently, NTPC is engaged in the development of eight coal mines, including Pakri-Barwadih, Dulanga, Talaipalli, Chatti-Bariatu, Kerandari, Badam, Banhardih, and North Dhadu (East), with a peak capacity of 87 million metric tonnes per annum (MMTPA).
