Contango Holdings, a London-listed company, has successfully installed a weighbridge at its Muchesu coal project located in Zimbabwe. This infrastructure addition allows trucks to collect coal from the mine, ensuring compliance with the required standards for selling and transporting coal within Zimbabwe and to other destinations.

The weighbridge not only facilitates the adherence to transportation regulations but also assists in accurately measuring tonnages and calculating sales figures for Contango's coal products. Since the official commencement of operations at the Muchesu mine on August 1, the company has been steadily accumulating a significant stockpile of coal through continuous production.

Contango Holdings holds a 70% ownership stake in the Muchesu coal project, while the remaining portion is owned by local Zimbabwean stakeholders. Previously known as the Lubu coal project, Muchesu boasts an extensive coal resource exceeding 1.3 billion tonnes.

In addition, Contango anticipates revealing its initial sales and revenue figures this month in partnership with minerals trader TransOre International. The company has a contractual agreement with TransOre International for the sale of 20,000 tonnes of washed coking coal per month.
