Tigers Realm Coal, a coal miner operating in Russia, has reported a significant increase in coal production at its Russian assets for the three months ending in June. The company reported a run-of-mine (RoM) production of 410,000 tonnes for the quarter, compared to 208,000 tonnes in the previous quarter (ending March), resulting in half-year production reaching 737,000 tonnes.

Coal sales for the quarter also rose to 260,000 tonnes, compared to 6,000 tonnes in the previous quarter. During the second quarter, the company loaded 265,000 tonnes of coal at the Beringovsky Port, an 80% increase compared to the previous quarter. This was attributed to an early start to the shipping season in May and more efficient loading.

For the full year, Tigers Realm aims to achieve a RoM production target of between 1.5 million and 1.6 million tonnes, with coal sales targeted at 1.1 million tonnes. However, the company warned that ongoing geopolitical uncertainties might impact its ability to meet sales targets, as their sales are primarily focused on Chinese market customers.

During the reviewed quarter, Tigers Realm decided to suspend its privatisation plans due to concerns about obtaining regulatory relief under Australian and Russian law in a timely manner. Additionally, the company has applied to the Federal Court of Australia for an exemption from the government's sanctions on Russian coal.
