The Ministry of Coal has announced that the technical bids for the seventh round of commercial coal block auctions will be opened on June 28. According to an official statement, the technical bids, consisting of online and offline bid documents, will be opened in New Delhi at 10:00 am in the presence of the bidders. The deadline for submitting online technical bids for all the coal mines is June 27, 12:00 pm, while offline submissions are accepted until June 27, 4:00 pm.

The seventh round of commercial coal auctions was initiated by the government on March 29 to enhance the availability of dry fuel in the country. A total of 103 coal mines were offered for auction in this round, with most of the blocks being partially explored. The government amended mineral laws to create a level-playing field for both public and private sector players, allowing the auction of coal mines without restrictions on their end use. Coal extracted from these mines can be utilized for self-consumption, sale, or any other purpose.
