The moisture content is sufficiently lowered during dry spells to allow for the processing and washing of RoM coal. Only starting on March 20 could the wash plant work six times a week for at least four hours, or half of an eight-hour shift. The wash facility produced more than 10 t of coal per hour on these days on average.A monthly production rate of 2,500 t of cleansed coal is the company's goal.In March, only 594 t of coal were washed.

Although CEO Noel Lyons anticipates more volatility in cleaned coal data in April, he is optimistic that the company will achieve its base case production target in May, when the wet season usually comes to a conclusion.

With effect from June, the company will provide 2 000 t of washed coal per month at a pre-transport price of $98/t, or $55/t on a net basis. Edenville has found a second accessible coal seam to boost the project's potential while continuing to work on extending the Rukwa deposit. Given client demand, the company also is looking into the benefits of establishing a second wash plant in Rukwa. An additional 8,000 to 10,000 t of cleansed coal is needed each month, according to conversations with prospective clients.
